Cubism
Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque were the key pioneers of cubism, which is an art form that takes everyday objects, breaks them apart (visually), analyzes the parts and puts them back together in a different, abstract form. Random angles, slanting planes, and depth, space, and background are common elements of cubism, which born and thrived in the early 20th century.
Pablo Picasso
Pablo Picasso was born in Spain in 1881 and grew up to be one the most renowned painters and sculptors in the world. He is best known as the father of the Cubist movement, which became popular in France in the early 1900s. Cubism depicts objects from many different viewpoints, breaking the subject into shallow planes and apparently random angles. His Violin and Guitar is an excellent example of cubism.
Picasso incorporated many different styles in his paintings, which are among the most expensive. In 2004, Picasso's Boy With a Pipe sold for more than $104 million at auction. His most popular prints include Le Vieux Guitariste, Don Quixote, Cote D'Azur and Petite Fleurs.
Although Picasso died in 1973, his works are still quite sought-after. Fortunately, they can be obtained in affordable, high-quality, digital prints to decorate homes, offices, and dorms.
